19 Best Online Courses for Travel Bloggers and Influencers

Travel Blogger working from the beach

Do you want to become a travel influencer or start a blog featuring your favorite destinations? My travel content creation series wouldn’t be complete without giving you all the tools you need to build a successful online business in the travel niche!

That’s why today I am listing the best online courses for travel bloggers and travel influencers.

If you are a travel content creator, whether you’re a generalist or you’ve narrowed down to a specific niche within travel, the resources in this article will help you level up!

There are plenty of courses out there, and deciding which to take and whose advice to follow can be overwhelming.

I have followed many of these creators for years, and some have been around since I started my first travel blog. I admire their work, and I’m sure you will, too!

Why take travel content creation courses?

I am a big believer that learning from those who’ve made it is the best thing to do, both when you’re just starting out and further down the road.

If you’re a beginner, following these experts’ advice will help you in so many ways:

  • You’ll grow faster,
  • Avoid serious mistakes,
  • Apply tried and tested strategies from the start, and
  • Build a business you’re proud of!

If you’ve already been blogging or producing other types of content for a while, online courses are great too! You can learn new strategies to take your business to the next level.

We have so much to learn from one another!

I am always enrolled in a program myself. Whether it’s about blogging, SEO, digital marketing or anything else, taking business-related courses is my thing.

Even when I already know about the topics discussed in a certain course, I always get fantastic takeaways. Learning about someone else’s perspective—even on topics you master—opens you up to new possibilities and helps you grow.

As I see it, taking courses is so, so worth it!

I have probably invested the most in them, and doing so helps me grow my business faster than anything else. My only regret is not having started sooner.

Are blogging courses worth it?

Let’s be real. Not all courses will be worth their cost. And not all creators will align with you. Even when the information is great, it can (and probably will) happen that you simply can’t connect to how someone shares their knowledge.

It sucks, but it happens.

Many times, it isn’t the creator’s fault. One course can be the best for someone and not work at all for somebody else.

So before you decide on which course to take, please spend some time getting to know your mentors. Do they sound like someone you’d love to learn from? Have you found value in their free content?

Also, look at the course sales page itself. Does it say if the course is text-based or delivered in video? Which option do you prefer as a student?

Consider your preferences and ask yourself if the course you’re about to purchase is offered by someone you admire and want to learn more from.

Pin this for later 🙂

Do you need to take courses to become a travel content creator?

Now, with that said, you don’t necessarily need to take courses to become a successful content creator. And no course will magically get you there.

Your eagerness to take it all in and determination to apply what you’ve learned are what define your success.

You could spend months watching YouTube videos and reading free content on blogs and learn a lot from it. I have done that!

The benefit of taking a course, though, is that it will save you time and energy. You can fast-track your journey to success because you’ll have a proven path to follow.

Plus, most courses come with access to a community of like-minded content creators as well as the mentors themselves. Although the majority of online courses are self-paced, and you need to commit to completing and applying the strategies taught in them, you’ll have a tribe of people ready to help you and answer any questions or roadblocks.

Being part of a community of fellow travel influencers and bloggers in other niches will offer you the support and accountability you need to carry on.

Here are some of my most recommended courses to help you in your blogging and influencer marketing journey:

Blogging Courses for Travel Content Creators

→ Jessie’s free courses

Jessie is the queen of travel blogging, strategy, mindset, and course creation. You’ve got to check her out, and you’ll see what I mean.

She runs two travel blogs, hosts a podcast, has a super popular, high-quality membership for travel bloggers (which we’ll talk about next), and offers a ton of resources. I have emailed her a couple of times, and I honestly don’t get how she does it all.

Here are a number of free offers she’s created for you:

Check out Jessie’s online school for travel bloggers to see all of her offers.

→ Travel Blog Prosperity

Travel Blog Prosperity is a membership that includes everything you need to learn about the online space! If you are a travel blogger, very few other courses will offer the number of resources included in this membership.

After taking Jessie’s free courses mentioned above, you should consider joining this program if you can.

You’ll learn the step-by-step strategies you need to follow to grow your website’s traffic, increase the number of subscribers in your email list, and make an income while traveling.

You also get access to a supportive community of fellow travel content creators ready to help you every step of the way and, of course, to Jessie – who’s the perfect example of a well-organized, productive, and devoted leader.

I have put this one early on the list because I truly believe this is what will help you *make it* online in the popular travel niche!

Here are some of the topics covered by Jessie, as well as the guest specialists she brings in every month:

  • Increasing your website traffic;
  • Profitably working with brands;
  • Ranking your content in Google;
  • Increasing your affiliate income;
  • Growing a passionate community;
  • Launching products & services;
  • Getting into Mediavine;
  • Increasing engagement on social media;
  • And so much more!

Technically, the doors to the membership are closed, but I’ve partnered with Jessie to get you backdoor access.

Click here to get started for just $9 when you use my invitation code. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, click the button that says “Give me access” and then enter the code SHETHRIVES at checkout.

This is valid during your first month so that you can try it out for less than the price of lunch! After that, the regular membership fee is $49 per month if you want to stay. If not, you can cancel at any time—no questions asked!

Summing all that up, these $9 will give you access to $5K worth of courses, templates, and bonuses. It’s a no-brainer, really!

Head over to the website and remember to use the discount code SHETHRIVES at checkout. The special offer is available to my readers only. If you don’t use the code, you’ll be charged the full price of $49.

→ Blog Content Challenge

The Blog Content Challenge is another blogging program worth considering, even though it wasn’t specifically created for travel bloggers.

In this video training, Ana demonstrates her powerful content creation method to create a year’s worth of blog posts in one month.

We all understand that content is king and how the number of blog posts you have can significantly impact your blog’s success. The more high-quality content you can create, the better chances you have of being found online and, subsequently, monetizing your blog.

I really enjoy this challenge because, although the concepts Ana shares were already part of my blogging routine, I had never put an effort into batching content the way she suggests.

After following her advice, I have been creating more strategically and faster.

This is a great practice for travel bloggers and creators too. I have a few friends who create one or two pieces of content for each destination they visit. But the really is that, with the right strategy, you can create so much more than that and fill in your content calendar for several months without stressing about your next adventure.

I recommend creating clusters for every one of your trips and scheduling content in advance so that you cover every topic your readers might want to read about and feel less stressed about your next topic.

In fact, you don’t need to be on the go all the time. Although many travel bloggers have embraced a life of full-time traveling, there are plenty who only take a few trips each year and still run successful travel businesses.

This program will help you find tons of keywords worth exploring for every new idea you have, and then organize your publishing schedule to make your content last longer.

Monetization Courses for Travel Influencers

→ Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing

Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, just as it sounds like, is a premium course about affiliate marketing. It is specifically tailored for bloggers, but as an influencer, you will learn a lot from it, too. It covers all aspects of affiliate marketing and how to apply all the strategies and “rules” both on your website and social media.

The course was created by Michelle, who started Making Sense of Cents in 2011. She quit her day job a couple of years into blogging and has been traveling full-time since. After touring North America in an RV for over 3 years, she now lives on a sailboat with her family and their dogs.

Her blogging business has generated well over $5,000,000 over the years, out of which $1,000,000 came from affiliate marketing alone.

You can start by downloading this free e-book where Michelle shares 26 affiliate marketing tips for bloggers.

→ Making Sense of Sponsored Posts

Making Sense of Sponsored Posts is a text-based course that teaches you everything you need to know about brand sponsorship opportunities. It is for bloggers and influencers who want to increase their income through sponsored posts.

The course was created by Michelle from Making Sense of Cents and Alexis from FITnancials.

Sponsored content is Alexis’ favorite source of income, and she has made five figures from a single deal.

Michelle typically earns anywhere between $10,000 and $25,000 a month through sponsored partnerships.

In this course, you’ll learn how to land sponsored partnership deals, how to increase your income, and how to make your business more appealing to potential brand partners.

SEO Courses for Travel Bloggers

→ SEO Roadmap

Nina Clampperton is a travel blogging and SEO expert who serves bloggers in the travel niche. She runs two very successful blogs that have earned her multiple six-figures, and her offers are a goldmine that have helped many students take their blogs full-time.

The SEO Roadmap course is her signature program that focuses on the power search engine optimization has and where it can take your blogging efforts.

She is constantly adding to the course and updating existing lessons to match the industry shifts, and each training session is full of actionable advice.

Nina is proof that you don’t need to be a social media influencer with thousands of followers to start a successful travel blog. You don’t need to be a great photographer or book trips every other week, either.

She teaches unique strategies that actually move the needle without burnout. Plus, she is the most engaged and community-oriented thought leader I’ve come across. You’ll always get an answer to any one of your burning questions, and you’ll find that her Facebook groups are particularly active and helpful.

This course includes everything that Nina teaches, so although she does offer other programs, you can expect to learn about them all through the Roadmap. Although it focuses mainly on SEO, since that’s her area of expertise, you’ll also learn about blog monetization, such as ads and affiliate marketing, website setup, email marketing, AI tools, and more.

Although the investment is big, especially compared to so many other online courses, it’s worth considering for those who want to make blogging a full-time career.

One of the most common regrets I see other students have regarding pricing is that they have wasted money on other courses when they could have invested in this one from the start and learned all the lessons in one place.

→ 6 Months to 50K Sessions

Also created by Nina Clampperton, this course is specifically designed to help you hit 50K sessions and get into Mediavine.

Mediavine is a premium ad network that can be a game changer for bloggers in any niche, but it is especially popular among travel bloggers.

It is one of the highest-paying ad networks that will significantly contribute to your overall income, but it requires a high-traffic site. That’s exactly what Nina helps you achieve in this program.

Even if displaying ads isn’t your goal, imagine what getting that kind of traffic to your blog could mean for your business. That’d be gold right there!

As I mentioned earlier, while this course isn’t included as is in the SEO Roadmap—Nina’s flagship program—the key concepts that you’ll learn in the 6 Months to 50K Sessions Masterclass are also covered there.

I think you’ll be happy to know that if you take this masterclass (because, let’s be frank, it’s a lot more affordable than the larger course!), you can get a special deal when you decide to upgrade.

Other Business Growth Courses for Travel Content Creators

→ Lyrical Courses

Lyrical Host—my most recommended web hosting company for bloggers—offers Speed Boost and Navigating SEO. These two courses are available to all bloggers (clients or not) on their training portal, Lyrical Courses.

If you are looking for hosting advice, you can read my full review about Lyrical Host or try them out for yourself. If you want to take advantage of the offer, simply use my special coupon code “BLOGGER” when checking out. You will save 10% off your Lyrical Host bill, get a free website transfer, and also get Speed Boost for free. There’s nothing to lose.

In any case, Navigating SEO and Speed Boost are very affordable and comprehensive. They were made specifically for bloggers and are packed with tons of easy-to-follow lessons and materials.

Navigating SEO delivers more than 100 lessons and 17 downloads, teaching you search engine optimization from A to Z.

Speed Boost is perfect for bloggers and online business owners who want to understand how to optimize their WordPress site speed. With over 30 lessons, it is the perfect resource for those who want to DIY website optimization.

→ eBook Bestseller Bootcamp

Besides ads and affiliate marketing, selling e-books is one of the most popular monetization strategies for travel bloggers.

The Ebook Bestseller Bootcamp is a step-by-step video training that will help you write, launch, and sell your first (or next) bestselling e-book.

On this page, you’ll find that many students have achieved excellent results after following Ana’s methods to become self-published authors.

Use the code EBB50OFF to save $50 at checkout.

→ Online Course Jumpstart and Email Marketing Jumpstart

Eb is a full-time blogger who runs two profitable blogs in different niches. She has a background in business and marketing, and through a series of online courses, she teaches new and experienced bloggers how to turn their work into a successful career.

She is passionate about helping others grow their content businesses and build scalable and diverse sources of income.

The Online Course Jumpstart is a roadmap to creating and launching a successful online course in as little as 8 weeks (even for non-techies).

The Email Marketing Jumpstart will teach you how to grow a subscriber list that can turn casual blog readers into raving fans ready to buy your products.

These two offers complement each other beautifully!

Affiliate Marketing for Travel Bloggers

→ Podcast Success Blueprint

If you’ve ever thought about growing your audience and driving traffic to your blog through podcasting, this is the course you need.

So many programs help you get all set up only to leave you hanging when things get real… but not Elizabeth’s courses, though! Having taken her Booked Out Designer course, I know firsthand how detail-oriented and organized she is. Nothing is left to chance.

The Podcast Success Blueprint is everything you need to start, scale, and monetize a podcast. It teaches you how to use a new marketing tool to attract more people to your existing content and offers while creating a brand-new income stream for your business.

→ Pinteresting Strategies and Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers

These two online courses are offered by Carly Campbell, a mommy blogger who’s been making a living from blogging for the longest time.

She is the real deal in teaching bloggers to grow their profits and traffic in unique ways and has helped thousands of students succeed.

Again, although Carly isn’t a travel blogger, I had to mention her offers here because I truly believe anyone can learn from her methods.

Pinteresting Strategies is one of my most recent purchases and has proved a game changer to many of us. Carly will show you how to use Pinterest to increase your blog’s organic traffic without any paid tools.

In her affiliate marketing course, she goes beyond traditional strategies with lessons that help you increase your conversions and affiliate income.

→ The Creator Bootcamp and The Blogger Bootcamp

Christina Galbato is an Instagram travel influencer turned educator, marketer, and investor.

After leaving her 9-to-5 in marketing, she became a full-time travel content creator, earning 6 figures from brand partnerships. But soon into the journey, she noticed a gap in the online content creator market when her followers started asking how they could do what she does.

Over the years, she has built and grown as an educator and now runs Create HerEmpire, an 8-figure online course business.

While the program I first got to know her by no longer exists (it was called The Influencer Bootcamp), she has rebranded, and today, her main offers are The Creator Bootcamp and The Blogger Bootcamp.

I think Christina has done a fantastic job creating community among her students. However, I do have to point out that these programs are more beneficial to those who want to invest in social media as a primary source of income and a community-building platform.

Christina is a social media influencer at heart. Although she has since built a profitable business that many of us can only dream of, it all started thanks to her huge Instagram following and personal influence. So, while I wanted to showcase her work, I can’t personally vouch for the new programs she has put out since 2018.

Conclusion

I’ll end it right here because I know it can get overwhelming pretty fast, especially if you’re only taking your first baby steps into content creation. But I suggest that you bookmark this page or pin it to your Pinterest account so that you can reference it when you’ve got the time.

If you haven’t started your travel blog yet, follow this in-depth, step-by-step tutorial to set it up easily so that you can hit the road as soon as possible!

Sharing is caring 🙂
